I was born in Corvallis Oregon, raised pretty much in Ames, Iowa until I went to BYU to college. I re-met Scott at BYU after he moved from Iowa at age 9 to Colorado. We dated our freshman year and got married in the Logan Temple after his mission to Venezuela. I had graduated in Consumer Economics and worked in banking putting Scott through school for several years. After Scott’s graduation from BYU, we were packed ready to move when the job offer came from the Deseret News in their Provo Bureau. So we unpacked and ended up staying in Provo. We have been in our home for the past 25 years.

Scott and I have four children: Austin (Laura) lives in Orem, Jenna (Tyrel and baby Carter) lives in New Jersey, Breanna is studying at BYU and Braden is a sophomore at Provo High. We are grateful for cell-phones, webcam and lots of trips back and forth to New Jersey!

I have taught Pre-Kindergarten in my home for the past 11 years and found my true career. It keeps me busy and active.

I love eating, exercising, reading, serving, gardening, scrapbooking, making jewelry, my family and grandbaby and traveling…not necessarily in that order! Scott and I have traveled all over the United States and the world and are pretty much addicted to experiencing different places! We are not afraid to get out and try things on our own.

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I loved growing up in the “mission field” and also love living in Utah…I have had the best of both worlds. I appreciate the example of my own parents and their unfailing testimonies of the Gospel.

One of my favorite scriptures is Mosiah 18: 8-11 where Alma talks about being baptized and the great promises we make and the great blessings that await us. I especially love the part where the people shout for joy and clap their hands when they hear the Gospel. Many times I feel the same way! I look forward to serving a mission someday when I “have grown a foot or two.”

I have great enthusiasm for life and love people in general! I look forward to serving in this calling in the Stake Relief Society and have a strong testimony of the programs of the Church and of the love our Heavenly Father has for all of us.

Flora Clark 1st Counselor

Flora Clark

I was born in a small Southern California town called Yucaipa, to loving parents who were very dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I married my very best friend, Kenneth Wayne Clark, for time and all eternity in the Mesa Temple and we have 5 wonderful children, and are expecting our 21st grandchild.
We moved to Provo from Mesa, Arizona and have lived here for the last 38 years. I love Utah and its different seasons.
My hobbies are playing with my grandchildren, studying the scriptures, and finding and compiling the life histories for Ken's and my ancestors.
I love the Savior and His gospel with all my heart and have a firm testimony that this is indeed Christ’s church here upon the earth.
I look forward to serving with the very talented and dedicated Sisters Taylor, Gustafson and Emero, and, most of all, I look forward to getting to know and love each of the sisters in our stake! Sister Flora R. Clark

Marci Gustafson

I was born and raised in San Jose, CA with 1 brother and 2 sisters. I met my husband Aaron in the young adult ward after graduating from high school. We both grew up in the same Stake but never knew each other due to enough age difference. Six years after getting married, we moved our family to Utah and have been here for the last 12 years. We have 3 boys and 2 girls ranging from 17 to 8 years old. I enjoy baking, reading, and learning to do piece quilting. I am looking forward to meeting more sisters in the Stake because visiting is also something I love to do!

Act lll, Scene ii

Someone has altered the script.

My lines have been changed.

The other actors are shifting roles

They don't come on when they're expected to,

And they don't say the lines I've written

And I am being up staged.

I thought was writing this play

With a rather nice role for myself

Small, but juicy

And some excellent lines.

But nobody gives my cues

And the scenery has been replaced.

I don't recognize the new sets.

This isn't the script I was writing.

I don't understand this plot at all.

To grow up

Is to find

The small part you are playing

In this extraordinary drama

Somebody else.

I was born Jan 20 to extremely loving parents who taught me many great and important lessons in life. I grew up with love in every corner of the household, with parents who loved, respected and cherished each other and were always an example of fairness, graciousness, service, respect and love. For them I am eternally grateful.

As a young girl I wrote the script for my life using their example. . I attended a local Southern California college and worked as a vision therapist for children with handicapped vision. Then I went to BYU. I majored in Elementary Education. I married in the temple, graduated and had one child, Aaron.

When I was eight months pregnant with my second child the scenes changed dramatically. I now needed to learn a whole new role, that of single parent. As a single parent I learned it was important to believe in yourself… for a long, long time I had forgotten this. I played this role for 20 years.

A new role of working parent soon altered my script. On my first day of work I got my first ticket hurrying home to the babysitter to pick up my babies. I often referred to the babysitters as the kidnappers because that is how I felt. Unbelievably, I retired after 31 years of teaching.

There have been many, many changes to my script but, the last scene change I want to share was amazing. Someone discovered I was a princess. This scene change was better than the script that I wrote for myself. I could not have written such a remarkable role… that of princess, friend, wife, mother, grandmother… walking hand in hand with this “noble son of our Father in Heaven”

I appreciate the roles that I have been given. I appreciate Heavenly Father’s confidence in me. I know that he lives and loves me.
